The Nuance of Beauty Timelines

The only person worth waiting for is the one that’ll stay by you forever!

Marriage is not a noun. It’s a verb. It’s something that you do.

To do that once-in-a-lifetime thing, you need to plan well ahead and get prepared mentally, emotionally, physically and financially, isn’t it?

It’s worth to plan well in advance. The trend now is to book a professional wedding planner, who could take much burden off your shoulders as most work would be handled by their team.

After the wedding date and venue has been scheduled, there should be enough time for favourite temple visits and visiting the elders of the early generations of the family at your native village.

Now come up to the trickiest job in the world! Preparing the guest list of the bride and groom’s families, relatives, friends, acquaintances, the first circle, second circle…collecting present addresses and email ids.

Endless phone calls, announcements and exchange of pleasantries’…it could be fun, only if you plan the day, and the night…!

Apart from shopping for the wedding attire, if you opt for custom tailoring, have time for trials for your bespoke suit which instils confidence in you as you step in front of a three-way mirror. There’s nothing wrong in spending quality time with your sartorial guide: your tailor, yes your Costume Designer !

A true bespoke suit should serve you and fit you like a glove – with hidden pockets for your convenience and sleeves should ensure free movement of your hands. Your tailor should understand the essentials of the fabric – proportion, pattern and palette that suits your skin colour.

The bride has to co-ordinate with her dress designer to come up with the best in blouse designs, accessories and this also takes much time, which is inadvertent.

And then there is the engagement party, wherein you send out invites, buy rings and gifts and get the outfits ready.

While all this is going on, you still have to look dashing and charming because you’ll be the cynosure of all eyes!

So it’s better to start beauty regimes for skin and hair a few months in advance as the results would only begin to show slowly.

For the sake of both the bride and groom, it’s good to take a thorough medical examination. If there is any deficiency, you will need time to correct it by supplements. Consulting a gynaecologist for advice on safe contraception and a sexologist to clarify queries might also help at this stage.

Next comes the search for the service providers. Hair and Make-up Artists at the beauty parlours, Sari Drapists, Mehendi Artists, wedding apparel makers…all these professionals work in unison to make you look great even before and after your wedding day.

While making jewellery purchases buy from reputed jewellers and take your own time for selection. Get proper receipts and guarantee or purity certificates.

Finally, before the guests start arriving in, be certain to take that much needed break from all the pressure build-up running to the marriage: indulge in a spa and massage session to maintain your general sanity! It sure helps!
